Welcome to the new and improved SMH Media.
After taking a three week placement over the Summer, I have discovered the joy of css design. Cascading Style Sheets, I mean they were a bit horrible to start with but once you get the hang of them, everything just becomes easier! I have a couple of extra links on here this time as you may have noticed.
A little bit about me ...
My name is Stefan Michael Hodgson, I am a third year student, studying Multimedia Design at Northumbria University, Newcastle. I have lived in Newcastle for the past two years but I am originally from a little village called Norton which is close to Stockton On Tees (near Middlesbrough).
This site is here as a portfolio of my work. I have created a number of websites for clients who have all been happy with my work. Also, check out my extensive Multimedia Design section which has links to all of the projects I have been invloved with while at university.
04/04/2008 - Interview with media corporation I have been shortlisted for an interview for a 12 week paid placement with a major media corporation. My interview is a week today in London, so I will be staying over the night before. Not sure how many will be up for the job like! The positon is for Design Assistant New Media, Cmon!
To make it look like I had done more for this Quad project. I created a website, the reason I have posted this is because I made it in about 2 hours and I was really pleased with the design, I mean, I don't want to blow my own trumpet, but I've really got the hang of this website malarkey.
Yep, thats right, a day after starting third year, I have started my new job at USC. It is so easy! I literally stood on the door saying "hello" to poeple who walked ina nd then saying "bye" on the way out. Piece of piss. I'm sure it will get harder, wont it?
26/09/2007 - Started third year ... Dear oh dear. Back at uni, already two briefs and a dissertation! The two briefs make little sense. Finally saw the new building. I personally think that the exterior with all that wierd metal shit looks awful. It's quite nice inside though. Would prefer a little more room and if the building was actually finished. Bloody builders everywhere!
What a day! After being frisked at security, probably because I look like a terrorist, it turned out OK. Got a tour of the ship and then led into a huge bar. We listened to a speech from the head of Cunard. Little bit boring but the three glasses of champagne helped. Then into the resteraunt for the three course meal. Awesome service and even better food, then presented with a certificate off the captain. So great day!
03/09/2007 - One of three winners in QE2 competition Found out today that I was one of the winners in the QE2 competition. Eric rang me while I was on my placement. So that's great news, the other winners were Donna and Rich. Welldone.
03/09/2007 - Score three week placement with First 11 I wasn't looking for a placement this Summer but through a friend got the chance to take a three week placement with First 11.
